Getting Prints
Buying print
Most of the pictures shown in the portfolio section is available in sizes up to 17*25 inches. For different reasons, some of them are more suited for larger prints, while others are suited for small. Please ask for any given picture you may be interested in, and I will be happy to answer. There may be pictures on the different pages of my site that are not in the portfolio section. The most likely reason is that I haven't prepared the picture for printing, which usually requires much more work than for web presentation. If you are interested in one of those images, ask me, and I'll see what I can do.
Below is a list of available print sizes. Please observe that the images are surrounded by a white border, usually 1 inch wide, but this may vary depending on the image aspect ratio. Please contact me if you need to know the exact image size. Do also note that the colors of the printed picture (or the tone of a black and white image), may differ significantly from what you see on your screen. If you want precise colors you must calibrate your screen and use a color managed viewer, but even that will not be exactly like the print.
Prices excluding shipping and handling:
- 8 x 10 inch : 25 USD
- 13 x 19 inch : 50 USD
- 17 x 22 (25) inch : 80 USD
If you are interested in buying a print, please send me an email with a link to that particular picture and what size you are interested in. I will quote you the exact prize including shipping and handling.
Printing technicalities
All images are printed on one of three fine art papers. Hahnemuhle PhotoRag is a delicate matte cotton rag paper. Hahnemuhle Fine Art Pearl is a semigloss photo paper exhibiting a very rich and long tone scale. Harman Gloss Fb Al is a semigloss paper that shares many characteristics of the traditional gelatin silver paper and has the deepest blacks and the best definition available. If you don't have any preferences, I will select paper based on what I think is best suited for the image. Some images are very difficult, or almost impossible to print well on all kinds of paper, in these cases I will let you know. All papers are of the highest archival quality, and combined with the Epson Ultrachrome K3 inks the prints will be very stable and long lasting. With proper handling and framing the prints will easily outlive the current owner.
Swapping prints
If you are a photographer and like my work, I would love to swap prints with you. Please send me a mail telling me what you want. In return I would like to pick some of your work. Since I will send you prints of high quality, I would appreciate to get something similar in return. By high quality I mean prints on a decent photo paper by fairly archival ink, preferably pigment. Epson enhanced matte will do perfectly fine, office printer paper won't. Anything from a darkroom is also fine. I would suggest keeping the size to A4/letter to keep postage and handling at a decent level, but I am open for suggestions. Contact me on email if you have a suggestion.
