Being heard on the internet is a daunting task. It's not enough to write smart and interesting stuff with a touch of humor. You have to work hard to get your pages to the front of the search engines, get other pages to link to you, post comments in blogs and forums and much more. Unless you do all this, and do it with success, all you'll ever do is talking to yourself. Doesn't sound much appealing, right? If you read this, it's obvious that I have had some kind of success in spreading my words, but most likely, I will continue talking to myself for some time. So, why bother. What good can it be to stand on your little soap box screaming all by yourself. I can't talk for you, but my own reasons are pretty clear.

  • I write to organize my own thoughts.
  • I write to preserve some of my ideas, hopefully the best ones.
  • I write to get inspiration.
  • I write to commit myself stronger to my private projects.

So, the reason why I'm happy talking to myself is that I'm rewarded in other ways, like gaining new inspiration to take pictures, or maybe to increase my own insight and knowledge. If other also gain something from this, it is a bonus.

Another bonus is that I hopefully will improve my written English. All these years studying electronics and working in the industry has ruined my language. It's not satisfying to write only technical reports and memos. Maybe this will get things rolling again.

Coming back to the question in the title, "What have I to say?". I don't really know yet, but I hope to explore it on these web pages.
